Lange Nacht der Museen 2023

Diverse Voices from Berlin and Brandenburg

During the Lange Nacht der Museen, the Netzwerk Naturwissen invited visitors to a collaborative participatory mapping workshop. The aim of the event was to bring together diverse voices from Berlin and Brandenburg who are engaged in addressing global ecological crises such as species extinction. Using a 'Crazy Wall' as a visual aid, participants explored the connections between different projects within the network. We placed pictures symbolising projects on a map and connected them with yarn to sketch the profiles of the people involved, accompanied by their short profiles. This illustrated past collaborations and connections within the network.

Many children participated in the activity, creating their own mind maps and reflecting on the importance of natural knowledge and possible strategies against environmental degradation. Through the creation of mind maps and group discussions, a lively communication platform was created, which encouraged the collaborative development of ideas and approaches. The event provided an opportunity for active exchange and joint development of concepts for nature conservation.
