First playtest of “Natur erzählen” – a resounding success
On July 10, 2025, visitors to the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin had their first opportunity to try out the associative storytelling game “Natur erzählen.” Interest was high, with many approaching our station out of curiosity and others gladly engaging in conversation.
The game was played in German and English, alone or in pairs, with people of different ages and from different countries of origin. The game invited players to tell personal stories about nature using picture cards. Many of the stories were set in the here and now.
It was exciting to find out what might happen to the stories if they were set in the future and what effect that would have on people.

The feedback was consistently positive: it was fun, thought-provoking, and opened up new perspectives on human-nature relationships. The findings from this test will now be incorporated into the further development of the game with the aim of offering more rounds of the game in the museum and beyond in the near future.
