From August 27th to September 1st, the "Petrified Times" project group from the Naturwissen Network will present a unique artistic intervention in the Mineral Hall of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin.
Artists Ulrike Mohr and Susanne Kriemann showcase their works using the energy carriers coal and uraninite. Through their artworks, you will experience the aesthetic qualities of these materials and gain insights into the invisible, complex interconnections and changes within ecosystems, as well as the elusive time dimensions of planetary material cycles.
This intervention uniquely combines art and science, inviting you to rediscover the mineralogical and paleobotanical collections through an aesthetic lens. Be inspired and immerse yourself in a fascinating world that artistically explores the intersections of the Anthropocene, temporality, and energy.
We look forward to your visit and stimulating conversations!
