A walk inbetween the gardens of our city
A walk inbetween the gardens of our city
If you walk through Berlin, you’ll see them everywhere: small planted areas around street trees. They often seem unremarkable. In fact, they are places of community involvement, care, and collaboration between people and urban nature.
On June 28, we’ll explore the street gardens in Friedrichshain together with the “Grüner Richard-Sorge-Kiez” initiative. We’ll learn more about the tree pit projects in the neighborhood, the people who care for them, and the importance of these small spaces for the health of street trees.
The walk offers insights into Berlin’s street ecology and shows how citizens contribute to preserving and strengthening urban natural spaces.
When: Sunday, June 28, 2026 | 2:00 p.m.
Where: Friedrichshain
