Printmaking Workshop: Urban Printing Meets Tree Printing
Printmaking Workshop: Urban Printing Meets Tree Printing
How are trees faring in the city? What pressures are they facing? And how can we explore these questions through art?
Together, we’ll collect natural materials, work with our hands, and translate impressions, shapes, and thoughts into prints and messages. Using plant parts, fallen bark, and found objects from nature, we’ll experiment with different printing techniques on paper. A brief introduction will kick off our group walk through the Floating University grounds. Afterward, we’ll print, experiment, and finally discuss the resulting works together.
The workshop is open to adults and children ages 10 and up accompanied by an adult. No prior experience is required.
Afterward, there will be an opportunity to linger on the grounds. The bar opens at 6:00 p.m., the Round Table on Urban Practice invites you to join the discussion, and an exhibition on the history and location of the Floating University will open.
The event is part of our program “BÄUME – Zwischen Wurzeln und Widerstand” through which we aim to highlight the often-overlooked role of trees as urban infrastructure.
